Hypnosis Is It Safe ?

One of the many questions that i get asked by clients is ” is Hypnosis safe?” I can understand peoples worries and concerns because even today hypnosis still has a mystery attached to it. One of my personal campaigns is to strip away the mystery and the hype and the downright lies regarding hypnosis

Back to the question in hand, emphatically YES Hypnosis is safe, but like anything else it can be unsafe in the wrong hands. Lucky for hypnotists and hypnotherapists I would say 99.9% of all hypnotherapists and hypnotists do use what they have learned in a responsible way.

Many people claim that they would never allow themselves to be hypnotised, the only problem with this claim is that they, like nearly everyone else regularly slip in and out of a similar state of hypnosis. Have you ever been driving along the highway or motorway and suddenly realised you are not sure  if you have gone passed your turning or exit. How about when you are watching television and you suddenly realise that although you have been staring at the television screen you have no idea of what you are watching or what has been happening, or have you been sat on a bus going somewhere on a regular journey only to suddenly find yourself trying to work out if you have gone past your stop. Well all of those things I have described is because you have slipped into a kind of hypnosis.

You were still aware of things happening around you, all that had happened is a part of your mind had wandered off onto other things. All hypnosis is, is a state of deep relaxation so that the sub conscious mind can be reached. Thats it, it is as simple as that. Nothing more, nothing less. There is no mystery or secretive powers, learning how to hypnotise people is just a learning process, just like riding a bike. Unlike riding a bike the only difference is you do not tend to end up bruising your knees or arms when you fall off.
